Gate systems have come a long way as far as surge protection is concerned. With properly installed surge protectors, most surges go unnoticed. HOWEVER, there is no guarantee that your system will never receive damage. Surge protection is akin to life insurance – you should strongly consider obtaining some. Although there is some upfront cost, the long-term benefit may save you tremendously in terms of equipment replacement due to lack of protection. Discuss this with your provider.
